Homeowner lists his home with NationWideByOwner (NWBO.) As an added benefit, PrimeSource Mortgage (an NWBO affiliate) offers to pre-approve potential buyers at no cost/obligation to ensure the homeowner wastes no time with a potential buyer who can’t qualify or can’t close a mortgage loan.

Four days after the NWBO sign goes in the yard, Seller gets a contract on his home. Buyer declines no cost/no obligation service from PrimeSource Mortgage and goes with a different lender, not even getting an interest rate bid from PrimeSource Mortgage.

After 8 weeks, the other Lender still cannot close the Buyer’s loan and advises it will be another 3 weeks before they can close (11 weeks!) Homeowner had to pay to extend the rate lock on his new house and then ends up losing the house because the Buyer of his house can’t close!

After 8 wasted weeks, the Buyer decided to go with PrimeSource Mortgage. The loan closes FIVE days later…and at a lower interest rate!

Just after making the decision to sell our home ourselves, Matt Lamoreux from PrimeSource Mortgage introduced us to NWBO. One of the biggest hurdles a FSBO seller has to overcome is exposure to potential buyers. I put my for sale by owner sign out in front of my house on a Friday morning at 8:00 am. By 10:00 a lady stopped by wanting to see the house, but I was not home.
